Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a significant week-on-week increase of Rs23,000 during the week ended August 22, 2026, reflecting a sharp rise in international bullion prices.
The price of 24-karat gold stood at Rs482,936 per tola on Saturday, August 22, compared with Rs459,936 per tola recorded on August 15, marking a weekly increase of Rs23,000.
Gold prices also registered a substantial increase in the 10-gramme category. The price of 24-karat gold rose to Rs414,039 per 10 grammes, compared with Rs394,320 a week earlier, representing a Rs19,719 increase on a week-on-week basis.
The weekly rally in domestic gold prices came amid a strong performance in the international bullion market.
International gold prices increased by $229 per ounce during the week, rising from $4,375 per ounce on August 15 to $4,604 per ounce on August 22.
The sharp increase in global gold prices was reflected in Pakistan’s local bullion market, pushing domestic rates higher during the week.
Gold prices have remained volatile in recent sessions, with movements in international bullion rates continuing to influence local prices. Changes in global market sentiment, investor demand and international economic developments remain key factors affecting the precious metal.
