Domestic bullion rates decline after international gold prices fall by $30 per ounce amid continued market volatility.
KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan fell sharply by Rs3,000 per tola on Thursday, October 1, 2026, following a decline in international bullion markets.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold dropped to Rs438,636 per tola, compared with the previous day’s closing rate of Rs441,636 in the local bullion markets.
Similarly, the price of 24-karat gold fell by Rs2,572 per 10 grams to Rs376,059, down from Rs378,631 recorded on Wednesday.
Bullion market experts attributed the decline in domestic gold prices primarily to weakness in international markets. They said global inflation concerns and ongoing tensions in the Middle East continued to contribute to volatility in precious metals.
In international markets, gold prices declined by $30 per ounce, falling to $4,161 from the previous close of $4,191.
The latest movement comes as investors continue to monitor developments affecting global economic conditions, inflation expectations and geopolitical risks. Gold, traditionally considered a safe-haven asset, can experience significant price fluctuations when international investors adjust their positions in response to changing economic and geopolitical conditions.
The decline in global prices was reflected in Pakistan’s domestic bullion market, resulting in lower rates for both per-tola and 10-gramme gold.
Market participants are expected to closely monitor international bullion prices and currency movements for their potential impact on local gold rates in the coming sessions.
