Gold prices plunge by Rs3,600 in Pakistan: October 20, 2026 update

Declining international trends pull local bullion rates down across domestic markets.

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan fell significantly on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, dropping by Rs3,600 per tola in line with falling rates across international markets.

Data released by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association reveals that 24-karat gold per tola closed at Rs435,436 in local bullion markets, down from Monday’s closing price of Rs439,036.

Similarly, the price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams recorded a decline of Rs3,086, ending the trading session at Rs373,316 compared to the previous day’s settlement of Rs376,402.

International Factors and Market Outlook

Bullion market experts attributed the local price drop directly to easing valuations in global trading hubs. In the international market, spot gold declined by $36, settling at $4,129 per ounce compared to the previous day’s close of $4,165.

Analysts noted that ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and persistent global inflation concerns continue to create volatile trading conditions for precious metals worldwide.

The latest decline offers temporary respite for domestic buyers and jewellers after recent fluctuations, though local dealers expect trading conditions to remain sensitive to macroeconomic shifts and international currency movements in the coming days.

Note: According to All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the exchange rate for gold prices are based on interbank foreign exchange rates issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
