Google is continuing to improve its Gemini AI assistant with new features and interface upgrades ahead of the highly anticipated Google I/O 2026 event.
Over the past few weeks, Gemini has received several updates, including enhanced audio sharing capabilities and a new “Thinking Level” feature. Now, Google is introducing two additional voices and a redesigned animated interface for the AI chatbot app.
The latest changes were first spotted by AssembleDebug on X, revealing Google’s continued focus on improving the Gemini user experience.
Gemini Introduces New Gradient Animation
One of the biggest visual upgrades arriving in Gemini is a new gradient animation that appears while the AI processes user questions. The colorful animation is designed to make interactions feel smoother and more modern.
The updated interface reportedly matches the new home screen animation that started rolling out earlier this month. It also builds on the broader Gemini app redesign that Google recently introduced for Android users.
The refreshed visuals highlight Google’s efforts to create a more interactive and polished AI assistant experience.
Google Adds Flare and Glow AI Voices
In addition to the new animation, Gemini is also receiving two fresh voice options named “Flare” and “Glow.” These voices expand the current selection of ten voices already available in Gemini settings.
The new voice additions are expected to give users more personalization choices while interacting with the AI assistant for conversations, searches, and voice-based tasks.
However, reports suggest the new voices may currently be limited to users in the United States. Some users have already received the visual animation update but still do not see the new voice options in their settings.
This indicates the rollout may be happening gradually across regions and devices.
More Gemini AI Announcements Expected at Google I/O
The latest Gemini improvements arrive just hours before Google’s I/O 2026 keynote presentation, where the company is expected to announce major AI developments.
Google previously teased “Gemini Intelligence” during The Android Show event last week, and industry experts believe the company could unveil a more advanced version of Gemini during the keynote.
The upcoming announcements are likely to strengthen Google’s competition in the rapidly growing AI chatbot market alongside platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude.
Gemini Continues to Evolve With AI Competition
Google has been aggressively upgrading Gemini to compete with other leading AI platforms. With new voices, enhanced visuals, and smarter AI capabilities, Gemini is quickly becoming one of Google’s most important products in 2026.
