The long wait for Google’s next big smartphone release is almost over. The Google Pixel 10 series will officially be unveiled at the highly anticipated Made by Google event today, August 20, at 5 PM UTC.
Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the event will also feature appearances by Lando Norris, Stephen Curry, and the Jonas Brothers, making it one of the most star-studded tech launches of the year.
Google is set to introduce multiple devices, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, alongside the new Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a. Leaks and early benchmarks have already given fans a strong idea of what to expect from this new generation.
The highlight of the lineup is the Tensor G5 chipset, Google’s first processor manufactured by TSMC. Benchmark leaks suggest a significant 73% CPU boost over the previous generation, although GPU performance appears slightly weaker, likely due to new hardware and driver adjustments. Still, the chip promises a major leap in efficiency and speed, placing the Pixel 10 series closer to flagship rivals.
On the hardware front, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL are expected to feature 120Hz LTPO OLED displays with 3,000 nits peak brightness, upgraded batteries, and faster wired and wireless charging. Both will come with a triple-lens setup, including a 50MP main, 48MP ultra-wide, and 48MP telephoto camera, plus advanced AI features like Camera Coach and Conversational Photo Editing.
For the first time, even the standard Pixel 10 will include a telephoto lens, while the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will deliver a bigger battery, improved hinge durability, and better charging speeds.
Pricing will remain the same as last year, starting at $799 for the base Pixel 10 in the US, €899 in Europe, and INR 79,999 in India. All models will include a free year of the Google AI Pro plan, valued at $239, offering Gemini AI features and 2TB of cloud storage.
Pre-orders begin immediately after the event, with shipping starting August 28 for most models. The Pixel Fold, Watch, and Buds will arrive on October 9.
