New Gemini releases target coding, cybersecurity and high-speed enterprise AI workloads.
Google has introduced three new Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) models, expanding its portfolio with improved capabilities for coding, cybersecurity and enterprise productivity.
The company on Tuesday announced Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, and Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, each designed to serve different developer and business use cases.
Google described Gemini 3.6 Flash as its new “workhorse” AI model, offering enhanced coding, knowledge work and multimodal performance while delivering greater efficiency than its predecessor.
According to Google, the model performs particularly well in multimodal tasks such as document parsing, chart and data analysis, and report drafting. The company said early users have found it more capable for handling complex workplace tasks that combine text, images and structured data.
Alongside it, Google launched Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, which is aimed at developers requiring low-latency performance and high throughput for AI-powered workflows.
The company said Flash-Lite is the fastest model in the Gemini 3.5 family and significantly outperforms its predecessor across different reasoning levels. Google expects the model to be widely used for applications including agentic search, document processing and other enterprise automation tasks.
Google also announced Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, a specialised AI model fine-tuned for cybersecurity applications.
The model is designed to help identify and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities while offering a lower cost per token than larger AI models. Google said the cybersecurity-focused model will initially be available only to governments and selected trusted partners through a limited-access pilot programme.
The latest releases reflect Google’s continued investment in expanding Gemini’s capabilities as competition intensifies among AI developers.
By introducing models tailored for productivity, developer workflows and cybersecurity, Google aims to provide organisations with more specialised AI tools while improving performance and reducing operational costs.
The company has increasingly focused on enterprise AI solutions as businesses adopt generative AI for software development, data analysis, document management and security operations.
