Google is taking a major step in smart home technology by integrating its powerful Gemini AI directly into your household devices with the launch of Gemini for Home.
Alongside this, the company unveiled a new lineup of Nest cameras, an upgraded Nest Doorbell, and a brand-new Google Home Speaker designed to work seamlessly with Gemini’s capabilities.
The next-generation Nest Cam Indoor (3rd Gen), Nest Cam Outdoor (2nd Gen), and Nest Doorbell come equipped with enhanced sensors and support for 2K video with HDR, offering clearer visuals essential for advanced AI functions. These cameras can now send intelligent alerts with text descriptions like “dog jumps out of playpen,” along with short video clips. Users can even ask specific questions through the Ask Home feature, such as “What happened to the vase in the living room?” and receive AI-generated summaries.
Google has also doubled the event video history from 3 hours to 6 hours, delivering 10-second clips paired with detailed descriptions. Thanks to a wider aperture, the cameras stay in full color even in low light conditions like dawn and dusk, and they’re equipped with IR LEDs for night vision. The Nest Doorbell features a 166° field of view with a 1:1 aspect ratio, while the indoor and outdoor cameras offer a 152° FoV.
The new models are priced at $100 for the Nest Cam Indoor and $150 for the Nest Cam Outdoor (or $250 for a two-pack). The Nest Doorbell costs $180 and is currently available in the US and Canada.
Additionally, Google introduced a new Google Home Speaker with 360° audio, built-in AI processing, and an RGB LED ring indicating Gemini’s activity. Priced at $100, it will launch in Spring 2026 across multiple global markets.
With Gemini for Home, Google is pushing the boundaries of smart home AI — offering users smarter security, intuitive controls, and seamless integration across devices.
