The PSW is a major digital transformation initiative designed to simplify and automate Pakistan’s cross-border trade processes. Operated by a public sector company under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017, it has been designated as the official Operating Entity under the PSW Act, 2021.
The Prime Minister’s Office appointed Pakistan Customs as the lead agency for PSW implementation in October 2017 due to its central role in trade regulation. Customs has already demonstrated strong technological capability through systems like Web-Based One Customs (WeBOC), which enables paperless processing for nearly 90% of the country’s trade. The revised fee schedule is expected to further support efficient trade operations and enhance user experience on the PSW platform.
