GWM Pakistan hints at the arrival of the ORA 5 electric SUV as the company prepares to expand its EV lineup with a new model.
GWM Pakistan has officially teased the launch of a new electric SUV, signaling another addition to its growing electric vehicle lineup in the country.
Although the company has not formally confirmed the model’s name, the teaser prominently showcases distinctive round LED headlights that closely resemble those found on the GWM ORA 5.
The reveal comes after the successful introduction of the ORA 3 and ORA 7 electric vehicles in Pakistan, suggesting that the ORA 5 is likely to be the brand’s next offering, since globally these three models are only available.
The teaser campaign has generated excitement among EV enthusiasts as GWM Pakistan also confirmed that the official unveiling is just around the corner.
In its latest promotional message, the company shared the words, “One Day to Go,” indicating that the launch event is scheduled for the following day.
However, the automaker has yet to announce the official model name, ex-factory price, booking details, or complete specifications for the Pakistani market.
While local specifications remain under wraps, the international version of the GWM ORA 5 provides a good indication of what buyers can expect.
Globally, the electric SUV is equipped with a 60 kWh battery pack, offering a usable battery capacity of 58.3 kWh. The vehicle uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery technology, known for its durability, improved thermal stability, and longer service life.
For charging, the ORA 5 supports an 11 kW AC charger through a Type 2 charging port positioned on the front left side of the vehicle. Under ideal conditions, the battery can be fully recharged in approximately six hours, while the charging system is capable of adding nearly 73 kilometers of driving range per hour.
Performance is another highlight of the upcoming electric SUV. The international model features a front-mounted electric motor producing 150 kW of power and 260 Nm of torque.
This setup enables the ORA 5 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around nine seconds before reaching a top speed of 160 km/h. As a battery electric vehicle (BEV), the SUV offers zero tailpipe emissions and a smooth, quiet driving experience.
Industry observers believe the ORA 5 could strengthen GWM Pakistan’s position in the country’s emerging EV segment, where demand for electric mobility continues to grow. The official launch is expected to provide complete information regarding pricing, available variants, specifications, and booking details for Pakistani customers.
