Sazgar Engineering Works Limited is preparing to broaden its plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) range in Pakistan through the local assembly of two advanced models: the GWM Cannon Alpha Hi4-T 4X4 2.0L Turbo AT PHEV and the GWM Tank-500 Hi4-T 4X4 2.0L Turbo AT PHEV.
The automaker has confirmed that both vehicles will be introduced as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units by March 31, 2026.
The Cannon Alpha PHEV is a tough pickup that blends strength with hybrid fuel efficiency.
Built for both commercial operators and lifestyle users, it comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with a modern plug-in hybrid system and 4×4 drivetrain, ensuring dependable performance in demanding conditions.
On the other hand, the Tank-500 PHEV delivers a premium SUV driving experience along with serious off-road potential.
Powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine linked to the Hi4-T hybrid system and 4X4 capability, it appeals to adventure lovers seeking both power and environmental responsibility.
These additions highlight Sazgar’s determination to strengthen its CKD hybrid portfolio, signaling its focus on advancing technology localization and contributing to carbon reduction efforts in Pakistan’s auto sector.
The gradual launch of these three vehicles reflects Sazgar’s planned expansion into the plug-in hybrid market.
With consumer interest growing in eco-friendly and economical options, the company is gearing up to attract a wider pool of environmentally aware Pakistani buyers.
Through its investment in local assembly and multiple new PHEVs across varying categories, Sazgar is positioning itself as a major force in driving Pakistan toward greener mobility solutions.
