Supermodel and entrepreneur Hailey Bieber has candidly opened up about how a major health scare transformed her outlook on life, wellness, and self-care.
During a recent appearance on the Therapuss podcast hosted by Jake Shane, the 29-year-old revealed that she became far more vigilant about her health after undergoing heart surgery in 2022. Bieber shared that doctors discovered she was born with a heart defect that could have led to serious complications if left untreated.
Reflecting on the experience, the Rhode founder said she suffered a mini-stroke, which ultimately led to the diagnosis and surgery. “They went through my groin, and I was in and out of the hospital the same day,” she explained, adding that the entire episode deeply impacted her mental and emotional wellbeing.
The health scare left Bieber feeling more aware of her body and cautious about even minor symptoms. She noted that the experience sparked a deeper fascination with medicine, doctors, and overall wellbeing, shaping her daily habits and priorities.
Her renewed focus on health also played a key role in the creation of her skincare brand, Rhode. Bieber shared that her passion for skincare stems from her interest in health and science, emphasizing that wellness is central to the brand’s philosophy.
Now fully recovered, Bieber has become a strong advocate for proactive health care, encouraging people to listen to their bodies, seek medical advice promptly, and prioritize long-term wellbeing over short-term concerns.
