Mohammad Haris has been appointed captain of the Pakistan Shaheens for their upcoming white-ball series in Darwin, Australia.
The promising young cricketer will steer his team through two 50-over matches and the prestigious nine-team Top End T20 series, scheduled from August 4 to 18.
Haris previously led the Shaheens to a triumphant victory in the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023. Now, he aims to replicate that success under Australian conditions. The team has already arrived in Darwin and is currently engaged in two four-day matches against Bangladesh ‘A’.
The white-ball squad has seen the inclusion of seven new players, replacing those who participated in the red-ball matches. The Shaheens will clash with Northern Territory and Bangladesh ‘A’ in the 50-over games before competing against eight other teams in the highly anticipated Top End T20 series.
The Pakistan Shaheens are focused on improving their performance from last year’s Darwin tour, where they emerged as runners-up in the T20 series and secured victories in both One-Day matches.
The team is equipped with a blend of youthful talent and seasoned leadership, creating a formidable lineup poised to leave a significant mark in the upcoming series.
Cricket enthusiasts are eagerly watching as the Shaheens gear up to display their prowess on the Australian pitches. The squad’s composition and strategic planning indicate a strong intent to dominate the series.
Haris, known for his dynamic leadership and batting prowess, will play a crucial role in steering the team towards success.
The inclusion of fresh talent alongside experienced players is expected to bolster the Shaheens’ performance. Each member of the squad brings unique skills, enhancing the team’s overall capability to adapt to various match situations. The Top End T20 series, in particular, will be a true test of their agility and strategic acumen.
The white-ball series in Darwin is not just an opportunity for the Shaheens to showcase their cricketing skills but also a platform to gain invaluable experience in international conditions. The tour promises thrilling cricketing action, with fans hopeful for remarkable performances from their favorite players.
