Honor has officially expanded its premium smartphone portfolio with the launch of the Honor Magic8 RSR Porsche Design in China.

Introduced alongside the Magic8 Pro Air, the new model joins the existing Magic8 and Magic8 Pro, which debuted in October last year. As expected from the RSR Porsche Design branding, the device focuses on luxury aesthetics, cutting-edge performance, and advanced camera technology.

Staying true to earlier RSR Porsche Design phones, the Magic8 RSR features a bold design inspired by Porsche supercars. It comes with a nano-ceramic rear panel that offers an impressive Mohs hardness rating of 8.5, improving durability while maintaining a premium feel. Honor also claims the phone is 10% lighter than its predecessor, despite packing more powerful hardware. The camera module design takes cues from classic Porsche matrix headlights, further emphasizing its automotive-inspired identity.

On the front, the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design sports a 6.71-inch quad-curved LTPO AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The panel delivers up to 6,000 nits of peak HDR brightness and supports Dolby Vision, along with 4,320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for improved eye comfort. Protection is handled by Honor’s Giant Rhino Glass.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The phone runs Android 16-based Magic UI 10.0, bringing several AI-driven features focused on performance optimization, photography, and daily productivity.

Photography is a major highlight. The Magic8 RSR includes a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor with macro support, and a powerful 200MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3.7x optical zoom. Honor says the phone is the first to achieve a CIPA 6.5 stabilization rating, aided by the new AiMAGE color engine. Support for an external 200mm Nox telephoto lens is also included. For selfies, there is a 50MP front camera with a 3D depth sensor for secure face unlock.

The device packs a massive 7,200mAh battery with 120W wired and 80W wireless fast charging. Additional features include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and an infrared sensor.

The Honor Magic8 RSR Porsche Design is available in Moonstone and Slate Gray colors. Pricing starts at CNY 7,999 ($1,150) for the 16GB/512GB variant, while the top-end 24GB/1TB model costs CNY 8,999 ($1,290).
