Honor is reportedly preparing to raise the bar in smartphone battery capacity with the upcoming Honor Power 2, following the buzz created by the original Honor Power earlier this year.

The first-generation model, launched in April, stood out with its massive 8,000 mAh battery, a capacity rarely seen in mainstream smartphones. Now, new leaks from China suggest the Power 2 will take things even further, packing a staggering 10,000 mAh battery.

This enormous power boost positions the Honor Power 2 as one of the largest battery smartphones in the market, appealing to users who prioritize long-lasting performance. According to the latest rumor, the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, indicating that Honor is aiming for an upper mid-range performance tier rather than a flagship-level processor.

While full specifications remain under wraps, the combination of a high-capacity battery and a capable Dimensity 8500 SoC suggests the Power 2 will target heavy users who demand multi-day battery life without sacrificing smooth performance.

For comparison, the original Honor Power featured a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1224 x 2700 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an impressive 4,000-nit peak brightness. It also offered a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 16MP front camera. Charging was handled via 66W wired fast charging, and it remains to be seen if the Honor Power 2 will maintain or improve upon this speed given the much larger battery size.

With smartphone manufacturers like Redmi reportedly working on similar large-battery devices, the race to deliver the most enduring mainstream phone is heating up. If Honor manages to balance size, weight, and charging convenience alongside its 10,000 mAh battery, the Power 2 could quickly become a standout option in the mid-range segment.

More details, including design changes, display specs, and camera upgrades, are expected to emerge in the coming weeks as leaks ramp up ahead of the official launch.
