Honor’s upcoming gaming-focused smartphones will feature ultra-high refresh-rate screens, active cooling and batteries of up to 12,070mAh.
Honor is preparing to launch its Win2 smartphone series, with all three models reportedly featuring the world’s first 2K displays with a 185Hz refresh rate.
The latest details come from Visionox, a display panel manufacturer that says it worked closely with Honor to develop screens combining high resolution with an exceptionally high refresh rate.
The lineup will include the Honor Win2, Win2 RT and Win2 Turbo, with the series expected to be unveiled next week.
Honor Win2 display specifications
According to Visionox’s announcement on Weibo, all three smartphones will feature 2K displays supporting a 185Hz refresh rate.
The company says the panels are designed to avoid the usual trade-off between resolution and refresh rate, allowing users to benefit from detailed visuals and smoother motion.
The displays will also support a 5,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate and a 520Hz reporting rate for ten-finger touch input. These features could improve responsiveness during fast-paced gaming, where rapid and accurate touch recognition is important.
Visionox has also highlighted the screens’ slim bezels, measuring just 0.93mm on all four sides. Meanwhile, 5,920Hz pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming is designed to help manage screen flickering at lower brightness levels.
Massive batteries and active cooling
The Win2 series is also expected to stand out for its battery capacity and thermal management.
Previous reports suggest the standard Honor Win2 will feature a 10,100mAh battery, while the Win2 RT could offer an even larger 12,070mAh battery.
The series is also being promoted with an active cooling fan, indicating a strong focus on sustained performance during demanding gaming sessions.
All three models are expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, although further specifications remain unconfirmed.
Can the 185Hz refresh rate deliver?
Despite the impressive figures, real-world performance remains a key question.
Many smartphones advertise refresh rates above 120Hz, but the highest settings are often limited to selected games and applications. Whether the Win2 series can consistently deliver its full 185Hz refresh rate will depend on software support, game compatibility and thermal performance.
Honor is expected to reveal more details when the Win2 lineup launches next week.
