Hot and dry weather forecast for Kashmir next 24 hours

Islamabad, April 29, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and dry weather conditions for Kashmir over the next 24 hours, warning that the region will continue to experience elevated temperatures and minimal cloud cover during this period.

According to the latest update from the PMD, Kashmir is expected to witness dry weather conditions on Tuesday night. Moving into Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the weather will remain predominantly hot and dry throughout the day, with the possibility of partly cloudy skies during the evening and nighttime hours.

This forecast is part of a broader weather advisory issued for the entire country. The PMD has stated that a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere is currently dominant over most parts of Pakistan and is likely to persist until at least April 30. As a result, day temperatures are expected to remain significantly above normal.

The department’s bulletin indicated that temperatures could be 5 to 7 degrees Celsius higher than usual in the southern regions, including Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan. Meanwhile, temperatures in the northern and central regions—covering areas such as central and upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan—are also expected to exceed normal levels by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius.

During this weather pattern, hot and dry conditions are forecast for most areas across Pakistan on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Some central and southern regions may even experience very hot weather, with gusty winds likely to occur in the plains during the daytime.

In the past 24 hours, the weather remained hot and dry throughout much of the country, with extremely high temperatures recorded in several cities. Notably, Shaheed Benazirabad recorded a scorching 49°C, while other cities such as Rahim Yar Khan, Khairpur, Padidan, Rohri, and Dadu reported highs of 48°C.

As the high-pressure system continues to affect the region, residents of Kashmir are advised to take precautions, remain hydrated, and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak heat hours to stay safe during this prolonged hot spell.
