The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that most parts of Pakistan will experience hot and humid weather on July 30, 2023.

However, there are chances of rain, wind, and thundershowers in scattered areas of northeast Punjab, the Pothohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Important Warnings:

• Heavy rains may lead to flash flooding in local streams (nullahs) of Dera Ghazi Khan and northeast Balochistan (including Zhob, Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Musa Khel, Sherani, Harnai, Bolan, Loralai, Khuzdar, and surrounding areas) on July 29.

• Urban flooding is possible in low-lying areas, and flash flooding may occur in local streams (nullahs) of various cities including Peshawar, Mardan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Kurram, Laki Marwat, Karak, Waziristan, Kohat, Tank, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Narowal, Sialkot, Lahore, Kasur, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, and Sahiwal on July 29. There may also be a risk of landslides in vulnerable areas of Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and hilly regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during this period.

Synoptic Situation: Monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are affecting the upper parts of Pakistan. Additionally, a westerly wave is present over the upper and central regions of the country.

Weather Forecast for July 29, 2023: Expect rain, wind, and thundershowers in scattered areas of Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. There are possibilities of heavyfalls in lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, and central/south Punjab during this forecast period. Elsewhere in the country, hot and humid weather is expected.
