ISLAMABAD, April 14, 2026 — The Pakistan Meteorological Department on Tuesday forecast hot and dry weather conditions across most parts of the country for Wednesday, with temperatures expected to remain elevated in plain areas.
In its daily advisory, the Met Office said mainly dry conditions would prevail nationwide, while daytime temperatures are likely to rise further, particularly in central and southern regions.
In the federal capital Islamabad, weather is expected to remain dry and hot during the day, with chances of gusty winds in the afternoon.
Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts are likely to experience dry conditions, with higher temperatures anticipated in southern areas. Upper regions may see partly cloudy weather during nighttime.
Similarly, Punjab is expected to remain hot and dry, including hill stations such as Murree and Galiyat. In Sindh, hot and dry weather will persist, with gusty winds forecast in coastal areas during the afternoon.
Balochistan is also likely to experience similar conditions, with most districts remaining dry and warm. Meanwhile, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to stay dry.
The PMD said that over the past 24 hours, dry weather prevailed across the country, with plain areas experiencing high temperatures. The highest maximum temperature recorded was 43°C in Mithi, followed by 41°C in several cities including Nawabshah and Jacobabad.
Major cities recorded typical seasonal temperatures, with Karachi at 37°C and Lahore at 36°C during the day.
The Met Office advised the public to take precautionary measures, including avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and staying hydrated, as heat intensity is expected to increase in the coming days.
