Pakistan Weather

Islamabad, September 13, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot weather to continue in Islamabad, with chances of light rain and thunderstorms on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

While residents of the capital are expecting some relief, the PMD clarified that temperatures in Islamabad and surrounding areas will largely remain on the warmer side.

For Saturday, the forecast suggests mainly hot conditions in Islamabad, although partly cloudy skies could give way to isolated rain or thunderstorms during the afternoon, with a probability of around 30 percent. On Sunday, similar conditions are expected, with the likelihood of rain-thunderstorm activity slightly increasing to 35 percent.

At the national level, the PMD reported that continental air continues to dominate most parts of Pakistan, while weak monsoon currents are affecting the northern regions. As a result, hot and dry weather is expected to persist in much of the country. However, scattered rain-wind or thunderstorm activity may occur in Kashmir and adjoining hilly regions during the evening or night.

The PMD also highlighted that flood-affected districts of Punjab will continue to face hot and dry weather for the coming days, posing challenges for residents. Over the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed across most regions, with only light rainfall of 4mm recorded in Thatta. The highest temperatures were noted in Nokundi and Dalbandin at 42°C, followed by Chilas at 41°C and Bunji at 40°C.
