Islamabad, August 10, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and humid weather in Islamabad on Sunday, with a 35% probability of rain-wind/thundershower during morning or night hours.
The Islamabad weather is expected to remain partly cloudy at times, bringing brief relief from the heat for residents.
According to the PMD, the prevailing weather pattern is influenced by a seasonal low over north Balochistan, coupled with moist currents from the Arabian Sea penetrating the upper parts of the country. Additionally, a trough of fresh westerly wave is impacting northern regions, including Islamabad and surrounding areas.
For Saturday, similar weather conditions are anticipated, with hot and humid spells dominating the day. However, isolated places in the Potohar region, Northeastern Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir may experience rain-wind/thundershowers during night hours.
Nationally, most areas will continue to witness intense heat and high humidity. Yet, the PMD highlights the potential for scattered rainfall in select regions, particularly in and around Islamabad, offering temporary relief from the prevailing weather.
In the past 24 hours, Islamabad received light rainfall of 4mm at the airport, while Sialkot City recorded the highest at 78mm. Other significant showers were observed in Gujranwala (37mm), Chakwal (23mm), and Attock (14mm). Meanwhile, maximum temperatures soared to 44°C in Dalbandin, Dadu, and Sibbi.
The PMD advises citizens to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, and remain updated on Islamabad weather alerts as conditions may change rapidly.
