Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar returned to his comedy roots with a bang in Housefull 5, and fans responded with enthusiasm at the box office. According to the latest update from Sacnilk.com (as of 10 PM Friday), Housefull 5 raked in an impressive ₹23 crore on its opening day, which converts to approximately $2.77 million USD. This opening not only exceeds Akshay’s previous film Sky Force, which opened at ₹11.50 crore (around $1.39 million USD), but also surpasses the Day 1 collection of Housefull 4, which stood at ₹19.08 crore ($2.29 million USD) in 2019.
The film recorded an overall 23.29% Hindi occupancy on Friday, a healthy number considering the dual-version release strategy. With both versions playing in theatres, Housefull 5 gave fans more reason to return to cinemas—possibly for a second viewing—to catch the alternate ending. This innovative storytelling move appears to be paying off at the box office.
