Islamabad, August 9, 2024 – In a significant stride towards Pakistan’s digital future, Huawei, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, has launched an ambitious training program aimed at empowering 300,000 students across the country.
The initiative was marked by the Huawei Train The Trainer (TTT) Certificate Distribution Ceremony, held on Friday, symbolizing a key milestone in Pakistan’s digital transformation journey.
The “Train The Trainer” (TTT) program, a collaborative effort between Huawei and various ICT academies nationwide, is designed to meet the growing demand for advanced ICT skills. By focusing on equipping trainers with cutting-edge knowledge and expertise, the program ensures a ripple effect that will significantly elevate the quality of ICT education across Pakistan.
This initiative is in perfect alignment with the government’s vision to enhance ICT education and foster digital skills among the youth. By bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements, the TTT program is poised to better prepare the next generation of IT professionals for the challenges of the modern digital landscape. The program’s meticulously structured approach ensures that trainers are well-prepared to deliver high-quality education, directly impacting students and the broader ICT sector.
Huawei’s involvement goes beyond merely offering training; it underscores a deep commitment to Pakistan’s digital future. By leveraging its global expertise and resources, Huawei is playing a critical role in developing a skilled workforce capable of supporting various sectors within Pakistan and beyond. This partnership highlights Huawei’s pivotal role in advancing Pakistan’s digital transformation.
During the ceremony, Ahmed Bilal Masood, Deputy CEO and Director Subsidiary Board of Huawei Pakistan, congratulated the trainers and students, emphasizing the collaborative efforts that made the TTT and Seeds for the Future (SFTF) programs possible. “Investing in IT and youth is the right direction,” he stated. “We are honored that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has chosen Huawei to be a part of this initiative. This is one of our top priorities, and we will continue to invest our efforts and resources to ensure its success. We must develop a workforce that will provide services not just within Pakistan but also internationally.”
Secretary of IT and Telecom, Aisha Humera Chaudhary, also highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “The Ministry of Information Technology is committed to supporting this initiative through several strategic measures. We will assist Huawei in provisioning students for this training and will have a committee in place to monitor operations and ensure the quality of the training imparted.” She further emphasized the broader impact of the program, congratulating the students and trainers and noting, “This is the beginning of a significant celebration, one that will lead to the economic growth of Pakistan. With Huawei’s collaboration, Pakistan is on its way to becoming a global leader in ICT.”
The TTT program is expected to have a far-reaching impact, with the goal of creating a skilled workforce ready to contribute to various sectors. Additionally, the establishment of an HR database for employment will streamline the connection between skilled professionals and job opportunities, further enhancing the program’s impact on Pakistan’s economy.
