Huawei has officially launched its highly anticipated Mate 80 series in China, introducing four powerful flagship devices: the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design.

Among these, the Mate 80 Pro Max and Mate 80 RS stand out with their advanced dual telephoto cameras, massive 6,000mAh batteries, and premium design upgrades.

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max follows the design language of the Mate 80 Pro but enhances nearly every aspect. It features a larger 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive 8,000-nit peak brightness, making it ideal for high-quality multimedia viewing.

Powering the device is the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of internal storage. The smartphone runs HarmonyOS 6, offering improved UI animations, AI-driven features, and enhanced system performance.

At the rear, the Mate 80 Pro Max houses a quad-camera setup powered by Huawei’s 2nd-gen Red Maple imaging chipset. The system includes a 50MP primary sensor with variable aperture and OIS, a 40MP ultrawide lens, a 50MP macro telephoto camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 6.2x optical zoom. For selfies, users get a 13MP front camera with 3D depth sensing.

The device packs a robust 6,000mAh battery supported by 100W wired and 80W wireless charging, ensuring strong endurance and fast top-ups. Additional features include IP68/IP69 durability, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, satellite communication, NFC, USB-C 3.1, stereo speakers, and an infrared sensor. Buyers can choose from Aurora Blue, Polar Day Gold, Polar Region Silver, and Polar Night Black. It weighs 239g and measures 8.25mm thick.

The Huawei Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design takes luxury even further with a redesigned rear and a titanium mid-frame. It shares most of the Pro Max’s specifications but upgrades RAM to 20GB and uses 3rd-gen basalt tempered Kunlun glass for improved durability. Color options include Hibiscus Purple, Jet Black, and Pure White.

Pricing starts at CNY 7,999 ($1,125) for the Mate 80 Pro Max and CNY 11,999 ($1,690) for the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design.
