Huawei is preparing to expand its foldable smartphone lineup with the upcoming Pura X Max, which is scheduled to launch in China on April 20. The new device will debut alongside the Pura 90 Pro series, marking another major step in the company’s evolving foldable smartphone strategy.
The Huawei Pura X Max is expected to build on the distinctive design introduced by the original Pura X, which attracted attention for its unconventional wide-aspect-ratio foldable display. With the Max variant, Huawei is reportedly introducing larger screens, offering users more viewing space for both the outer and inner displays.
Ahead of the official unveiling, Huawei has already shared several key details about the smartphone, including its design, color variants, and memory configurations. Promotional images reveal that the phone will feature a triple-camera setup on the rear, placed inside a pill-shaped horizontal camera module. This design gives the foldable device a sleek and modern appearance.
For photography and video calls, the handset will also include selfie cameras on both the outer and inner displays, allowing users to take photos or join video calls whether the device is folded or unfolded.
Huawei has confirmed that the Pura X Max will be available in five color options. These include Interstellar Blue, Olive Gold, Phantom Night Black, Vibrant Orange, and Zero Degree White. The range of colors suggests the company is aiming to appeal to both professional and style-conscious smartphone users.
In terms of memory and storage, the foldable device will be offered in four different configurations. Buyers will be able to choose between 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, 16GB RAM with 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM with a massive 1TB of internal storage.
Huawei has also opened pre-orders through its official online store in China, allowing interested customers to reserve the device ahead of the official launch event.
While the company has not yet revealed the complete specifications, industry expectations suggest the smartphone may be powered by the Kirin 9030 series chipset. More details, including display sizes, camera capabilities, and pricing, are expected to be announced during the official launch on April 20.
