Huawei Pura X View teases wide-screen design, 7,000mAh battery

Huawei’s upcoming smartphone combines a 16:9.5 OLED display with an ultra-thin body and large battery as its China launch approaches.

Huawei has shared another teaser for its upcoming Pura X View, highlighting the smartphone’s unusual wide-screen design and large battery ahead of its official availability in China on August 28. The device was unveiled earlier this month as Huawei’s latest attempt to introduce a wider display format to conventional non-folding smartphones.

The Pura X View stands out primarily because of its 6.39-inch OLED display with a 16:9.5 aspect ratio. Unlike the tall and narrow screens used by most modern smartphones, Huawei’s new device adopts a considerably wider layout designed to provide more horizontal screen space. The display also features extremely slim 1.05mm bezels, contributing to its distinctive appearance.

Huawei is also emphasizing the phone’s battery capacity. The Pura X View packs a 7,000mAh battery, which is particularly notable given its slim profile. The handset measures just 6.68mm in thickness and weighs around 201 grams, making the combination of a large battery and thin body one of its key hardware highlights.

The wide display is expected to offer a different viewing experience compared with conventional flagship smartphones. Huawei claims the unusual screen shape can provide more usable display area for activities such as browsing and viewing video content. The phone also has a reported screen-to-body ratio of around 96.1%.

On the software side, the Pura X View will run HarmonyOS 7, with the device expected to be among the first Huawei smartphones to ship with the newer software version. However, Huawei has yet to provide complete details about the phone’s chipset and camera hardware.

The company has already begun reservations in China, with the smartphone scheduled to become available on August 28, 2026. Pricing and international availability have not yet been confirmed.
