KARACHI, April 22, 2026 — Hyderabad Kingsmen pulled off a thrilling four-wicket victory over Multan Sultans in a high-scoring encounter of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Wednesday, powered by a blistering century from Usman Khan.
Chasing a daunting 214-run target, Kingsmen reached the total in the final over with six wickets down, in what turned out to be one of the most entertaining matches of the season. Usman Khan led the charge with a match-winning 101 off 47 balls, smashing five fours and 10 sixes.
The chase began on a shaky note as Maaz Sadaqat fell early, leaving Kingsmen under pressure. Saim Ayub and Marnus Labuschagne steadied the innings briefly, but a double strike from Mohammad Ismail in the powerplay reduced the side to 48-3.
Usman Khan then anchored a crucial 123-run partnership with Labuschagne, who contributed a composed 61 off 41 balls. The duo rebuilt the innings and maintained a strong scoring rate, bringing Kingsmen back into contention.
Usman shifted gears in the middle overs, taking on the Sultans’ bowlers with aggressive stroke play, including a decisive over against Arafat Minhas that tilted the momentum.
Despite a late comeback attempt by Peter Siddle, who dismissed both Usman and Glenn Maxwell in the 18th over, Kingsmen held their nerve. Hasan Khan sealed the victory with a quickfire 24 off six balls.
Earlier, Multan Sultans posted a formidable 213-7, driven by a sensational century from Steve Smith. Opening alongside Sahibzada Farhan, Smith put on a dominant 132-run partnership.
Farhan scored 66 off 43 balls, while Smith accelerated the innings with an explosive 106 off 50 deliveries, including 12 fours and six sixes. He also shared a brisk stand with Josh Philippe before departing late in the innings.
Kingsmen bowlers managed to restrict further damage in the death overs, with Hasan Khan emerging as the most economical.
The result boosts Hyderabad Kingsmen’s standing in the tournament, while Multan Sultans will look to regroup after the narrow defeat in a contest dominated by batters.
