Hyundai Nishat Motor (Private) Limited has announced a revision in freight charges, raising the cost by PKR 15,000 for several of its popular vehicle models.
The updated freight rates will come into effect from June 1, 2025, and will apply to all vehicles invoiced on or after this date.
The price hike affects a range of models, including the Hyundai Porter, Elantra Hybrid, Tucson Hybrid, Sonata variants, and Santa Fe Hybrid. Previously, the freight cost for the Hyundai Porter and Elantra Hybrid was PKR 32,000, which will now increase to PKR 47,000.
Similarly, the Tucson Hybrid and all variants of the Sonata will see an increase from PKR 40,000 to PKR 55,000.
The premium Santa Fe Hybrid, known for its advanced features, will now carry a freight charge of PKR 60,000, up from PKR 45,000. Across all models, the hike is uniform at PKR 15,000.
Why the Increase in Freight Charges?
According to Hyundai Nishat, this increase is part of a strategic decision aimed at maintaining sustainable operations in a changing economic environment.
The company cites rising logistical costs, fuel prices, and market dynamics as the primary reasons behind the revision. It also reflects Hyundai’s broader effort to enhance its supply chain efficiency and service delivery across the country.
Instructions to Dealerships and Sales Teams
Hyundai has directed its nationwide dealership network to update billing systems and processes accordingly.
Sales personnel have been instructed to remain in close contact with their respective area sales managers to address any customer queries and ensure a seamless transition during this price adjustment phase.
What This Means for Car Buyers in Pakistan
The revision in freight charges is a reminder of the variable cost factors affecting vehicle prices in Pakistan. Alongside taxes, registration fees, and insurance, logistics charges play a significant role in the final purchase cost of a car.
For prospective buyers planning to invest in a Hyundai vehicle, being aware of these changes is essential for budgeting and making informed decisions.
As the automotive sector faces continued fluctuations, staying updated on such changes will help consumers navigate pricing complexities in the Pakistani car market.
