Hyundai unveils 8th-generation Sonata: The sportiest midsize sedan

Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the 8th generation Sonata – the sportiest midsize sedan yet. The car features sleek lines, eye-catching exterior design, and performance-inspired elements that set it apart from other vehicles in its class.

The redesigned sport sedan will be available in both standard and N Line variants, and will be launched globally on March 30, 2023.

The new Sonata features an aero-friendly exterior design that improves fuel efficiency and stability at high speeds.

The Sonata boasts a distinctive image, with an N Line-based exterior design that exudes a sporty and sleek appearance. The long hood, low front-end, and fastback roofline convey a sports coupe style that accentuates the car’s dynamic and progressive aesthetic.

The low-slung exterior of the Sonata exemplifies progressive automotive design, incorporating Hyundai’s signature Seamless Horizon Lamp, hidden headlamps, wide grille, and air intake to create a more aggressive and dynamic appearance.

The Seamless Horizon Lamp and hidden headlamps create a dramatic lighting effect, emphasizing the car’s wide stance and adding a futuristic touch.

The dynamic design is further enhanced by the contrast between sharp, linear elements and clean, supple surfaces. The black garnish along the bottom of the body rises towards the rear, giving the Sonata a strong and assertive character.

At the rear, the new H-lights further emphasize the car’s high-tech image and wide stance. The swooping spoiler-shaped trunk lid and muffler-shaped rear garnish on the standard model reinforce the impression of a high-performance sports sedan.

The N Line model takes it a step further, with the addition of a rear spoiler, dual twin-tip mufflers, and exclusive 19-inch wheels that amplify the car’s sporty and aggressive image.

The interior of the new Sonata features a driver-centric layout that complements its sporty exterior, while incorporating high-tech details to cater to modern lifestyles.

The panoramic curved display, a first for Hyundai, combines the 12.3-inch driver information cluster and the 12.3-inch AVN infotainment system, creating a modern and simple dashboard layout that emphasizes the horizontal lines and enhances the sense of space. The touch-type climate control unit integrated into the instrument panel adds to the high-tech look.

The interior has undergone significant upgrades to improve the passenger experience, with tasteful color combinations that enhance the sporty and premium character of the car.

The ‘floating’ theme of the interior creates a futuristic mood, while the column-type shift-by-wire controller positioned behind the steering wheel adds more space to the center console area.

The palm rest on the center console extends the armrest for more driver comfort, and the large cup holder and tray provide additional convenience.
