Pakistan’s Test cricketer and prolific left-hander, Imam-ul-Haq, has set the English domestic circuit alight with a dazzling run of form in the 2025 One Day Cup for Yorkshire.

The stylish opener, who was left out of Pakistan’s recent ODI series against the West Indies, has stamped his authority in Yorkshire’s top order, taking over the slot previously held by India’s Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Imam has amassed a staggering 331 runs in just three innings at a jaw-dropping average of 110. His campaign began with a composed half-century in a convincing win over Warwickshire, before he unleashed back-to-back match-winning centuries against Northamptonshire and Lancashire. This run of form has underlined his dominance in Group B and powered Yorkshire to the top of the table with three straight victories, 12 points, and an impressive +2.219 net run rate.

After his century against Lancashire, Imam shared a cryptic yet philosophical post on X (formerly Twitter): “Chase too hard, and it slips away. Relax, focus, and let it come to you.” The calm, methodical mindset reflected in those words mirrors the composure he brings to the crease—one of the key reasons for his remarkable consistency.

With 75 ODIs under his belt for Pakistan, Imam-ul-Haq boasts 3,152 runs at an average of 47.04, including nine centuries and 20 fifties. He will next face Somerset on August 14 at York Cricket Club, aiming to further cement his growing reputation as one of Pakistan’s most dependable and elegant stroke-makers.
