Dubai, September 24, 2025 – India stormed into the final of the Asia Cup 2025 after a dominant 41-run victory over Bangladesh at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday. The result not only sealed India’s place in the final but also ended Sri Lanka’s hopes of qualifying for the tournament decider.

Batting first, India set a competitive total of 168 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. The innings was anchored by a brilliant 75 from Abhishek Sharma, who alongside Shubman Gill built a 77-run opening partnership. Gill chipped in with 29 runs, while Hardik Pandya added late fireworks with a blistering 38 off just a few deliveries. For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three crucial wickets.

Chasing 169, Bangladesh faltered under relentless pressure from India’s bowling attack. Despite an excellent knock of 69 by Saif Hassan and some resistance from Parvez Hossain Emon with 21 runs, Bangladesh could only manage 127 in 19.3 overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav were the standout bowlers for India, both bagging three wickets apiece, while Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy controlled the middle overs.

The turning point came in the middle phase of Bangladesh’s innings. After reaching 46/1, the batting side collapsed to 87/5 as India’s spinners choked the run flow and struck at regular intervals. Though Bangladesh showed moments of resilience, they struggled to accelerate, ultimately handing India a comfortable win.

With this commanding performance, India reaffirmed their dominance in the Asia Cup 2025, while Bangladesh were left ruing missed opportunities and regular loss of wickets. The stage is now set for India to battle for the prestigious title in the grand final.
