Dubai, September 28, 2025 – India lifted the Asia Cup 2025 trophy after a nerve-wracking contest, defeating arch-rivals Pakistan by five wickets at the Dubai International Stadium.
After winning the toss, India chose to field first. Pakistan started strongly with an 84-run opening stand, but their innings collapsed dramatically, folding for just 146 in 19.1 overs. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 57, while Fakhar Zaman contributed 46. No other batter managed to resist India’s disciplined bowling. Kuldeep Yadav was the star performer, taking four wickets for 30 runs, while Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Axar Patel grabbed two apiece.
Chasing 147, India stumbled early, losing three wickets for only 20 runs. But young Tilak Varma rose to the occasion, playing a match-winning knock of 69. He was well-supported by Shivam Dube (33) and Sanju Samson (24), guiding India to 150/5 in 19.4 overs. Despite the pressure, the Men in Blue held their nerve to seal victory.
Pakistan’s bowling struggled to defend a modest total. Haris Rauf had a forgettable outing, conceding 50 runs in just 3.4 overs without taking a wicket. Faheem Ashraf fought hard with three wickets, but it wasn’t enough to stop India from celebrating their ninth Asia Cup triumph.
As fireworks lit up the Dubai night, the final lived up to its billing, showcasing the intensity of the Pakistan-India rivalry. For India, it was glory in the desert; for Pakistan, heartbreak after a brave fight.
