Colombo, October 5, 2025 — India Women delivered a dominant performance to outclass Pakistan by 88 runs in their ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup (WCWC) 2025 encounter at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

The result extended India Women’s unbeaten record against Pakistan Women in ODIs to an astonishing 12-0, reinforcing their supremacy in this one-sided rivalry.

Batting first, India Women posted a competitive 247 all out in 50 overs. Harleen Deol top-scored with 46, while Richa Ghosh added a lively 35 to give the innings late momentum. Though several batters got promising starts, none could convert them into a big score. For Pakistan Women, Diana Baig impressed with a fiery four-wicket haul, supported by Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana, who picked up two wickets each.

Chasing 248, Pakistan Women faltered once again with the bat, managing just 159 in 43 overs. Sidra Amin’s fighting 81 was the lone highlight in an otherwise dismal display, as the rest of the lineup crumbled under scoreboard pressure. The collapse from 143/5 to 159 all-out exposed familiar flaws in Pakistan’s batting consistency.

India Women’s bowlers capitalized on helpful conditions, led by Kranti Gaud and Renuka Singh Thakur with the new ball. Deepti Sharma bagged three wickets, while Sneh Rana struck twice. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s sharp run-out added to Pakistan’s misery.

The win marks India Women’s second consecutive triumph in the tournament, boosting their net run rate and cementing their position as early title contenders in WCWC 2025.
