Infinix has revealed how users can access and use the satellite communication feature on its latest flagship smartphone, the Note 60 Ultra. The company recently highlighted the functionality through promotional materials, explaining how the device allows users to stay connected even in areas without traditional cellular coverage.
The satellite network feature on the Note 60 Ultra is designed to provide emergency and remote connectivity by linking the smartphone directly to satellites. This allows users to make calls and send messages when they are outside the range of standard mobile networks.
According to Infinix, the Note 60 Ultra supports two major satellite-based communication services. The first is dual-way satellite calling, which allows users to make and receive calls using satellite connectivity. This feature can be especially useful in remote regions such as mountains, deserts, or rural areas where cellular towers are unavailable.
The second key feature is dual-way satellite SMS with location sharing. Through this function, users can send text messages via satellite and also share their precise location coordinates. This capability could prove valuable in emergency situations, outdoor adventures, or when traveling through areas with poor signal coverage.
Infinix also explained the process required to connect the device to the satellite network. Users can activate the feature directly through the phone’s settings menu. Inside the settings panel, there is a dedicated Satellite Network option that allows users to enable the function and begin the connection process.
Once the feature is activated, the phone will start searching for available satellites. To establish a stable connection, users must hold the device and point it toward the sky to allow the antenna to detect satellite signals. The system interface then guides users to adjust the device’s direction until a signal is successfully detected.
When the connection is established, the phone will display a confirmation message indicating that the satellite network has been connected. Users can then initiate satellite calls or send messages directly from the device.
While satellite communication may involve higher service costs compared to regular mobile networks, the technology significantly improves connectivity in areas where traditional coverage is unavailable.
With the Note 60 Ultra, Infinix aims to bring advanced satellite communication features to mainstream smartphones, offering users a new level of reliability and safety when traveling or working in remote environments.
