Islamabad, May 30, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast very hot weather across multiple districts of Sindh, with temperatures expected to remain high in the coming days.
The ongoing heatwave has intensified across the region, with no significant relief expected over the weekend.
According to the PMD, weather conditions in Sindh are likely to stay very hot and dry on Friday night and throughout Saturday, May 31, 2025. The department has advised residents and local authorities in Sindh to take precautions against heat-related illnesses and to avoid outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours.
While Sindh remains under the grip of scorching heat, the PMD has issued a broader national alert regarding potential weather hazards in other parts of the country. A strong westerly wave currently influencing upper Pakistan is expected to persist for the next 24 to 36 hours. This system may bring windstorms, dust-thunderstorms, hailstorms, heavy rainfall, and lightning, potentially causing damage to vulnerable structures such as electric poles, solar panels, trees, and vehicles.

However, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan may see partly cloudy skies, duststorms, and isolated rain-thundershowers. Heavy falls and hailstorms are also expected in parts of Kashmir and northern areas.
