The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced the restoration of internet and broadband services across Pakistan following a widespread disruption.
The interruption, which had led to significant internet issues, has been successfully resolved, bringing relief to users nationwide.
On Wednesday, multiple regions and ISPs across Pakistan experienced severe internet disruptions, ranging from complete shutdowns to noticeably slower speeds. The PTA has initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause and to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
Preliminary reports suggest that the disruption might be linked to issues with international traffic rather than local network problems. However, specific details remain unconfirmed. The large-scale outage caused frustration among internet users, affecting daily activities that rely heavily on stable internet connectivity.
Interestingly, despite the widespread internet issues, Meta platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram continued to function smoothly. This anomaly indicates that the disruption might have been isolated to certain networks or infrastructures within Pakistan.
In an official statement, the PTA attributed the disruption to a fault within the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) system. The statement read:
“This is to inform the general public that due to some fault in the PTCL system, internet services in some parts of the country have suffered to some extent. Internet/broadband users may experience degraded services during peak hours. At the moment, the concerned teams are fixing the fault, and PTA is monitoring the situation until internet/broadband services are back to normal for all users.”
The PTA reassured the public that technical teams are actively working to identify and rectify the fault. Efforts are underway to ensure a prompt resolution and restore normal internet services nationwide. The PTA is closely monitoring the situation to guarantee that internet connectivity is fully restored and stable for all users.
As the investigation continues, internet users across Pakistan are advised to remain patient and stay updated through official channels. The PTA’s commitment to addressing the issue underscores the critical importance of reliable internet access in today’s digital age.
