The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max reportedly sold 15% more units in their first week than their predecessors, with the Pro Max accounting for 55.5% of sales.
Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro series has reportedly recorded strong first-week sales in China, with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max estimated to have sold around 1.3 million units during their first week of availability.
According to data shared by blogger RD Observation, combined sales of the two new Pro models were around 15% higher than those recorded by the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max during their first week last year.
The sales figures follow a strong pre-order period in China, during which retailers reportedly sold out of available iPhone 18 Pro series stock. Estimates suggested that around 7 million units were pre-ordered, while some retailers reportedly recorded twice the revenue generated during the launch of the iPhone 17 Pro series.
iPhone 18 Pro Max Leads Sales
The iPhone 18 Pro Max accounted for approximately 55.5% of the combined first-week sales, making it the more popular of the two models during the initial sales period.
This represents a shift from the pre-order period, when the smaller iPhone 18 Pro reportedly accounted for around 60% of orders.
The reported first-week sales of the two Pro models also represented approximately 90% of the combined first-week sales of Apple’s entire 2025 iPhone lineup in China, according to the estimates.
The absence of new standard and Air models at launch means customers seeking a newly released iPhone currently have the Pro models as the latest options.
iPhone Prices Rise in China
Apple has increased the prices of the iPhone 18 Pro models in several markets. In China, the 256GB and 512GB versions received a CNY 1,000 price increase, equivalent to roughly $150.
The higher-capacity models saw larger increases. The 1TB versions became CNY 2,500 more expensive, while the 2TB configurations increased by CNY 3,500.
Despite the higher prices, early sales data indicate continued demand for Apple’s latest Pro models in China.
Price increases have also varied across international markets. In the US, the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro price increased by around 9%, while the same model in China was approximately 11% more expensive.
Japan recorded a larger increase, with the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro priced JPY 40,000 higher, representing an increase of around 22%.
