Honor’s new flagship pairs ARRI camera technology with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, an 8,800mAh battery and a 120Hz LTPO OLED display.
Honor has launched the Magic9 Pro Max, its latest top-tier Android flagship, featuring dual 200MP cameras, ARRI camera tuning and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.
The phone’s camera system is led by a 23mm-equivalent 200MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture. It is joined by an 85mm-equivalent 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 3.7x optical zoom. A 50MP ultrawide camera with a 12mm-equivalent focal length completes the rear setup.
Both the main and telephoto cameras feature CIPA 8.0 “gimbal-level” image stabilisation. Honor has also integrated ARRI image science across all three cameras, offering ARRI colour profiles and cinematic video filters.
The filters allow users to apply colour grading inspired by ARRI cinematic cameras. The phone also supports ARRI LogC3 Curve recording, 10-bit colour depth and ARRI Wide Gamut 3 colour space, positioning the Magic9 Pro Max as a device aimed at professional-style mobile video production.
Honor is also offering optional camera accessories, including a 500mm teleconverter lens attachment and a handheld SmallRig camera cage. The cage provides mounting points for accessories such as grips, LED flashes and microphones.
The Magic9 Pro Max features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1,320 x 2,868-pixel resolution and a variable refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz. Honor claims a global peak brightness of 2,000 nits and a local peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits during HDR video playback.
The handset runs MagicOS 11 based on Android 17 and carries IP69K ingress protection. It also features an 8,800mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
The Magic9 Pro Max is available in Shadow Black, Glacier Silver and Moss Green. Chinese pricing starts at CNY 6,499 ($968) for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the 16GB/1TB model costs CNY 8,499 ($1,266).
Honor has yet to announce international availability or pricing.
