Fresh leaks have provided a closer look at how Apple’s upcoming foldable smartphone, widely referred to as the iPhone Fold, may compare in size with the expected iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models.
Images of case molds shared by well-known Apple tipster Sonny Dickson reveal the potential physical dimensions of the rumored foldable device alongside Apple’s next-generation flagship phones. The molds offer an early glimpse at the design and proportions Apple may use for its first foldable iPhone.
Based on the leaked images, the iPhone Fold appears noticeably shorter than both the Pro and Pro Max models. However, it features a wider body design, which aligns with previous rumors suggesting Apple is focusing on a broader display experience compared with other foldable smartphones currently available in the market.
The leak also suggests the device will feature a dual-camera system on the rear. According to earlier reports, the setup could include two 48-megapixel sensors, likely a wide and an ultra-wide lens. The cameras appear to sit on a raised camera plateau similar to the design seen on the rumored iPhone Air lineup.
Display specifications have also been widely discussed in recent leaks. The foldable iPhone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch external cover display, allowing users to operate the phone while it remains closed. When unfolded, the device could reveal a much larger 7.76-inch internal screen, giving it a tablet-like experience.
Both screens are rumored to be wider than most foldable devices currently on the market. Reports indicate that Apple may introduce an iPad-style interface, allowing users to run apps side-by-side for improved multitasking.
Meanwhile, production developments surrounding the device remain uncertain. Reports suggest that Foxconn, Apple’s primary manufacturing partner, has already started trial production of the foldable iPhone in China.
However, a recent report from Nikkei Asia indicates that Apple may be facing challenges during the engineering testing phase. Several suppliers have reportedly been informed that component production timelines for the device could be delayed.
If Apple cannot resolve these technical issues soon, the launch of the iPhone Fold—initially rumored for September—may be postponed by several months.
