India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of Saturday’s match after suffering a low-grade right adductor strain in the series opener.
India have suffered an injury setback ahead of the second T20I against New Zealand, with Ishan Kishan ruled out after sustaining a low-grade right adductor strain during Thursday’s series opener.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed Kishan’s absence in an official statement, adding that his progress would be monitored as India look to extend their 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Kishan featured in India’s historic victory in the opening match, in which the visitors chased down their highest-ever total in men’s T20I cricket.
Chasing a challenging target of 226 in Christchurch, India secured a four-wicket win with two deliveries remaining.
