Islamabad, November 4, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned residents of Islamabad to prepare for a sharp drop in temperature and possible hailstorm activity over the next few days.
According to the forecast, temperatures in the federal capital are expected to plunge to 10–12°C, marking the season’s first major cold spell.
Weather Forecast for Islamabad
• Tuesday: Partly cloudy weather with chances of rain, wind, and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. The PMD also predicted isolated hailstorms during the period.
• Wednesday: Mostly dry weather with partly cloudy skies during morning hours.
The PMD attributed the weather changes to a westerly wave currently affecting the upper parts of Pakistan, which is likely to persist until the morning of November 5, 2025.
National Weather Outlook
The department warned that rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms, along with snowfall over hills, are expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Light rain is also possible in the Potohar region, Islamabad, and northeastern Punjab during the evening and night hours.
Travel Advisory:
The PMD urged travelers and tourists, especially those heading toward northern and hilly regions, to exercise caution and plan trips carefully. Strong windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning could damage weak or temporary structures.
