Islamabad braces for weekend of hazy sunshine

Hot and Dry Weather

Islamabad, September 26, 2025 – As the weekend approaches, residents of Islamabad are being advised to prepare for a spell of dry, hot weather dominated by hazy sunshine.

According to AccuWeather, the capital will continue to experience above-normal temperatures until Sunday, September 28, with daytime highs reaching 36°C and lows dipping to 22°C.

The forecast suggests that Friday will begin with typical hazy sunshine, pushing the “RealFeel” temperature close to 38°C. While winds from the west at around 11 km/h may bring brief relief, health experts warn that prolonged outdoor exposure could still lead to dehydration or discomfort.

On Saturday, conditions in Islamabad are expected to remain unchanged, with similar highs of 36°C. The day will feature more hazy sunshine, coupled with an elevated UV index rated “unhealthy” for sensitive groups. The Meteorological Department has advised residents, especially children and the old-age, to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak hours.

Sunday’s forecast mirrors the same trend: warm, hazy skies with only a slight drop in shade temperatures. Winds from the south-southeast at 9 km/h will provide little cooling effect.

Authorities recommend adequate hydration, use of sunscreen, and light clothing to cope with the persistent heat. For the people of Islamabad, this weekend looks set to be marked by steady, glaring sunshine, offering little respite but a clear reminder of late September’s intense seasonal patterns.
