Islamabad dengue alert: 36 fresh cases confirmed

Islamabad, September 28, 2025 – The district administration of Islamabad has reported 36 fresh dengue cases in the last 24 hours, raising concerns about the rising trend of the virus in the capital.

According to the daily surveillance report, anti-dengue teams inspected 265 locations across Islamabad, where larvae were detected at six sites.

Officials said that inspections were carried out in both rural and urban sectors of the city, highlighting that rural areas remain more vulnerable. Of the 36 new cases, 25 were recorded from rural regions, while 11 emerged from urban neighborhoods. To curb the spread, spraying and fogging operations were immediately launched in high-risk localities.

The administration emphasized that strict monitoring will continue on a daily basis. Teams have been directed to take stern action against violations of dengue prevention SOPs. Several individuals were arrested for negligence, while multiple premises were sealed after larvae were found on-site.

Authorities also appealed to residents of Islamabad to cooperate by maintaining clean surroundings, removing stagnant water, and reporting larvae sightings to the control room. They stressed that community participation is critical for preventing further outbreaks.

Officials assured that anti-dengue squads will intensify their operations in the coming days, focusing on both prevention and awareness campaigns. With consistent surveillance and public cooperation, the administration expressed confidence that dengue cases in Islamabad can be effectively contained.
