Islamabad, March 30, 2025 – Authorities in Islamabad have finalized an extensive security and traffic management plan ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to ensure the safety of citizens and the smooth functioning of the city.
The Interior Ministry’s spokesperson announced on Sunday that comprehensive measures have been put in place to prevent any untoward incidents and to facilitate a peaceful celebration for residents.
To bolster security across Islamabad, over 3,500 police personnel will be deployed at key locations, including mosques, Eid prayer grounds, and public gathering spots. In addition, 18 security checkpoints will be established at major entry and exit points of the city to monitor and regulate movement. Law enforcement agencies will maintain strict vigilance, and a zero-tolerance policy has been declared against aerial firing, hooliganism, and street crimes to uphold law and order.
Security officials in Islamabad have been instructed to remain on high alert throughout the Eid holidays, with enhanced patrolling in commercial and residential areas. Special security squads will be positioned at markets and recreational venues to deter criminal activities and provide citizens with a safe environment to enjoy the festivities. Authorities have also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the relevant security agencies.
In terms of traffic management, Islamabad Traffic Police has designated 500 personnel to regulate vehicular movement and ensure seamless traffic flow. Special arrangements have been made for tourists traveling to Murree, a popular Eid destination, to prevent congestion and facilitate smooth transit. Additionally, security teams will be deployed along major highways and entry routes to oversee traffic discipline and prevent accidents.
The Interior Ministry has called on Islamabad residents to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and cooperate with law enforcement personnel to maintain order. Citizens have been encouraged to celebrate responsibly while prioritizing public security and well-being.
