Islamabad, January 21, 2025 – Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, is expected to receive relief from the harsh winter cold as temperatures are likely to improve over the next three days. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that Islamabad’s minimum temperature, which was recorded at 4°C yesterday, will rise slightly to 5°C during the upcoming 72 hours.
According to the PMD, Islamabad will experience cold and partly cloudy weather on Tuesday night, January 21, 2025. Light rain is anticipated at isolated locations within Islamabad and its surrounding areas. For Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the PMD forecasts similar weather conditions with cold and partly cloudy skies expected over Islamabad and nearby regions.
At the national level, the PMD reported that a westerly wave is currently affecting the western and upper parts of the country. This weather system is contributing to the cold and dry conditions prevailing in many regions, including Islamabad.
National Weather Predictions
Tuesday: The PMD anticipates cold and dry weather across most parts of the country. However, rain and snowfall over the hills are likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and southwestern Balochistan.
