Islamabad Weather Forecast for December 26, 2025

Weather Forecast Thundershowers

Islamabad, December 25, 2025 — The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued the latest weather forecast for Islamabad and its surrounding areas for Friday, December 26, 2025, indicating the continuation of cold and dry conditions in the federal capital.

According to the PMD, cold and dry weather is expected to prevail in Islamabad on Friday, with similar conditions forecast for Thursday as well. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions during early morning and nighttime hours, when temperatures are likely to feel significantly colder due to dry continental air dominating the region.

At the national level, the PMD stated that a continental air mass is currently prevailing over most parts of the country. As a result, cold and dry weather is expected across large areas of Pakistan, while very cold conditions are likely to persist in northern and hilly regions. In these higher elevations, temperatures may fall well below freezing, increasing the risk of frost and icy conditions.

For Thursday, the weather is expected to remain cold and dry across most regions. However, patchy fog may develop during the night over plain areas of northeast and south Punjab, as well as upper Sindh, potentially affecting road visibility.

Looking ahead to Friday, similar cold and dry conditions are forecast nationwide, with partly cloudy skies in northern areas. Fog formation in patches is again expected during the night and early morning hours over the same plain regions of Punjab and upper Sindh.

The PMD reported that during the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather dominated most parts of the country, while very cold conditions were recorded in northern areas. The lowest minimum temperatures included Leh at minus 10°C, Astore at minus 6°C, Gupis at minus 5°C, and Skardu, Hunza, and Kalat at minus 4°C. Kalam, Gilgit, and Quetta recorded lows of minus 3°C, reflecting the ongoing winter chill across Pakistan.
