Pakistan Weather

Islamabad, December 11, 2025: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued the weather forecast for Islamabad and its surrounding areas for Friday, December 12, 2025, predicting cold and dry conditions during the day, with partly cloudy skies in the evening and night.

According to the PMD, Thursday witnessed cold and dry weather across most parts of the country. Hilly regions experienced very cold conditions during the night. Moderate to dense smog and localized fog persisted over the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh, reducing visibility in several regions.

For Friday, similar conditions are expected nationwide. Continental air will continue to dominate most regions, while a shallow westerly wave is likely to affect the western parts of the country. Morning and nighttime temperatures in hilly areas will remain very cold, and smog, along with patchy fog, may affect the plains of Punjab, KP, and upper Sindh.

The PMD’s past 24-hour observations reported the lowest minimum temperatures across several northern areas: Leh at -7°C, Skardu -6°C, Gilgit -5°C, and Gupis, Bagrote, and Kalat around -4°C. These readings highlight the continued cold spell affecting the region.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, especially in the northern and plain areas prone to smog and fog, which could impact road visibility and daily activities. The PMD continues to monitor the synoptic situation to provide timely updates on weather changes, ensuring public safety and preparedness.
