Islamabad, July 28, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a detailed forecast indicating a high chance of thundershower activity in Islamabad and its surrounding areas on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
According to the latest advisory, there is an 80% probability of rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms, with a possibility of heavyfalls in some localities.
The weather outlook for Monday night also points to hot and humid conditions in Islamabad, with a 60% chance of isolated rain-wind or thundershower activity. The prevailing weather conditions are being driven by a strong monsoon system and a westerly wave currently affecting northern parts of the country.
At the national level, a seasonal low-pressure system lies over northwest Balochistan, extending horizontally, while strong monsoon currents are entering upper Pakistan and are likely to persist for the next 48 hours. A westerly wave is also influencing the northern regions, including Islamabad.

• Mostly hot and humid across Pakistan.
• Isolated thundershowers expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, and the Potohar region.
Tuesday:
• Rain-wind/thundershowers likely in Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
• Other areas will experience hot and humid weather.

• Punjab: Lahore Airport (25mm), Kasur (15mm), Sialkot (2mm), and various parts of Lahore city received light to moderate rain.
• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Balakot recorded 2mm.
