Islamabad weather to turn hotter as PMD forecasts rising temperatures

Islamabad, March 3, 2026 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a rise in temperatures in Islamabad, predicting hotter and dry weather conditions for March 4, 2026.

According to the latest Islamabad weather update, mainly dry conditions are expected in the federal capital and surrounding areas over the next two days, with daytime temperatures ranging between 28°C and 30°C.

For Tuesday, the PMD predicts dry weather in Islamabad, with partly cloudy skies and gusty winds likely during the afternoon hours. Temperatures are expected to remain between 28°C and 30°C, indicating a gradual increase in heat intensity.

A similar weather pattern is forecast for Wednesday, with dry conditions persisting across the city. Partly cloudy skies and afternoon gusty winds are also expected, while daytime temperatures will likely stay within the 28°C to 30°C range.

National Weather Outlook

At the national level, the PMD stated that continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country, contributing to dry weather conditions in several regions.

On Tuesday, mainly dry weather is expected across Pakistan, while hilly areas are likely to experience cold conditions during night hours. Northern regions may see partly cloudy weather in the evening and night. Daytime temperatures in plain areas are forecast to remain above normal.

For Wednesday, dry weather will continue in most parts of the country. However, partly cloudy conditions are expected in northern areas, with chances of light rain and light snowfall over hills in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan during the evening and night. Hilly areas will remain cold during morning and night hours.

Past 24-Hour Weather Update

Over the past 24 hours, weather remained dry in most parts of Pakistan, while cold conditions persisted in hilly areas during morning and night hours.

The lowest minimum temperatures recorded included Leh at -7°C, Skardu and Astore at -2°C, and Kalam, Gupis, and Gilgit at -1°C.

The PMD has advised citizens to stay updated with official forecasts as rising temperatures in Islamabad and other plain areas may signal the early onset of warmer seasonal conditions.
