According to the PMD’s latest weather advisory issued on Wednesday, dry and cold conditions are likely to persist throughout the week in Islamabad and surrounding areas, especially during the morning and night hours.

• Wednesday: Dry weather expected; cold during night hours.

• Thursday: Dry and chilly conditions to continue, particularly in the morning and night.

Nationwide Weather Outlook

The PMD stated that continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country.

• Wednesday: Predominantly dry weather will persist nationwide, with colder conditions in upper regions.

• Thursday: Mainly dry and cold weather expected in most areas, with fog likely to develop in the plains of Punjab during morning and night.

During the past 24 hours, rain, wind, and thunderstorms—with snowfall over the hills—were recorded in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, upper Punjab, Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Notable rainfall included: Saidu Sharif (51mm), Dir (20mm), Kasur (19mm), and Islamabad (ZP 10mm). Snowfall of 3 inches was reported in Kalam and Malam Jabba.

The lowest minimum temperatures recorded today were Kalam (-4°C), Leh (-3°C), and Astore (-1°C), indicating that winter has officially set in across northern Pakistan.
