Islamabad, September 4, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released the latest weather forecast for Islamabad covering Thursday, September 4, and Friday, September 5.

According to the PMD, the capital city will experience mainly hot and dry conditions, with only limited chances of variation in surrounding areas. Residents of Islamabad are advised to be prepared for persistent heat as no major rainfall is expected in the city during this forecast period.

At the national level, the synoptic situation shows that monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea are penetrating the northeastern regions of Pakistan. Additionally, a westerly wave is influencing upper parts of the country, creating mixed weather conditions.

Thursday Forecast

On Thursday, most regions of the country will remain hot and dry. However, partly cloudy skies with rain-thunderstorms are anticipated at isolated locations, particularly in Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Friday Forecast

For Friday, the outlook remains largely unchanged. Islamabad will continue to witness hot and dry weather, while northern areas such as Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan may see scattered rain-thunderstorms under partly cloudy conditions.

During the last 24 hours, several regions received rain accompanied by thunderstorms. Northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Barkhan reported rainfall, with heavy showers in parts of northeast Punjab. In contrast, hot and humid conditions persisted in most other areas.
